Brief facts about charging station:

A charging station, also known as a charge point, chargepoint, or electric vehicle supply equipment, is a power supply device that supplies electrical power for recharging plug-in electric vehicles. There are two main types of EV chargers: Alternating current charging stations and direct current charging stations. Electric vehicle batteries can only be charged by direct current electricity, while most mains electricity is delivered from the power grid as alternating current. For this reason, most electric vehicles have a built-in AC-to-DC converter commonly known as the "onboard charger". At an AC charging station, AC power from the grid is supplied to this onboard charger, which converts it into DC power to then recharge the battery. DC chargers provide higher power charging by building the converter into the charging station instead of the vehicle to avoid size and weight restrictions. The station then supplies DC power to the vehicle directly, bypassing the onboard converter.

AC adapter - An AC adapter or AC/DC adapter is a type of external power supply, often enclosed in a case similar to an AC plug. AC adapters deliver electric power to devices that lack internal components to draw voltage and power from mains power themselves.

Automated charging machine - An Automated Charging Machine is an electronic machine that provides the public with the ability to recharge a mobile device, often for a small fee. Similar to vending machines, ACMs take cash, then charge the connected devices, which may be cell phones, PDAs, or other handheld devices.

Battery charger - A battery charger, recharger, or simply charger, is a device that stores energy in a battery by running an electric current through it. The charging protocol depends on the size and type of the battery being charged.

Direct coupling - In electronics, direct coupling or DC coupling is the transfer of electrical energy by means of physical contact via a conductive medium, in contrast to inductive coupling and capacitive coupling.

Electric vehicle battery - An electric vehicle battery is a rechargeable battery used to power the electric motors of a battery electric vehicle or hybrid electric vehicle. Electric vehicle batteries account for over 90% of battery use in the energy sector.

Electric vehicle network - An electric vehicle network is an infrastructure system of charging stations and battery swap stations to recharge electric vehicles. Many government, car manufacturers, and charging infrastructure providers sought to create networks.
