Brief facts about directcurrent:

Direct current is one-directional flow of electric charge. An electrochemical cell is a prime example of DC power. Direct current may flow through a conductor such as a wire, but can also flow through semiconductors, insulators, or even through a vacuum as in electron or ion beams. The electric current flows in a constant direction, distinguishing it from alternating current. A term formerly used for this type of current was galvanic current. The abbreviations AC and DC are often used to mean simply alternating and direct, as when they modify current or voltage. Direct current may be converted from an alternating current supply by use of a rectifier, which contains electronic elements or electromechanical elements that allow current to flow only in one direction. Direct current may be converted into alternating current via an inverter. Direct current has many uses, from the charging of batteries to large power supplies for electronic systems, motors, and more.

CCS - The Combined Charging System is a standard for charging electric vehicles. It can use Combo 1 or Combo 2 connectors to provide power at up to 350 kilowatts.

DC bias - In signal processing, when describing a periodic function in the time domain, the DC bias, DC component, DC offset, or DC coefficient is the mean value of the waveform. A waveform with zero mean or no DC bias is known as a DC balanced or DC free waveform.

Electric current - An electric current is a flow of charged particles, such as electrons or ions, moving through an electrical conductor or space. It is defined as the net rate of flow of electric charge through a surface.

High-voltage direct current power transmission.

Neutral direct-current telegraph system - In telecommunication, a neutral direct-current telegraph system is a telegraph system in which current flows during marking intervals and no current flows during spacing intervals for the transmission of signals over a line, and the direction of current flow is immaterial.

Polarity symbols - Polarity symbols are a notation for electrical polarity, found on devices that use direct current power, when this is or may be provided from an alternating current source via an AC adapter.
